Cloud cost and reliability
The bill and the outage come from the same gap.
Spend and reliability split in the same places: a platform nobody owns, a second tool on the same job, access that outlives the person. We review the software you pay for and the platforms you run.
What we will not promise
We will not quote a savings percentage. A number before the seats and the path is a guess. We name specific waste. No ratio.
Task us with the last invoice you trust, and who can administer the account. If those two do not match, that is where we start.
Cost, as an operator
- Seats and subscriptions that do not match the people who still work there.
- Two products that record the same work. One of them is usually the one a team is afraid to turn off.
- A vendor holding data, or able to change a system, with no named owner.
- A bill leadership cannot tie to a system the floor still uses.
- Onboarding and offboarding that are still manual, so access and cost drift every time someone joins or leaves.
We tie each invoice line to a job the operation still does. Systems and cost is the short version.
A seat for someone who left is also an access finding. We treat it as both. Cutting the seat without the job it still carries is tomorrow's outage.
Reliability without a new team
Reliability means the people you have can tell what is down, who owns it, and what was promised. Not a rotation staffed by a hire. If uptime depends on a person not yet hired, the products and the processes do not agree.
For each platform the week depends on, we write three lines: who notices it is down, who may change it, and where the record lives. Shared admin access with no owner is cost, reliability, and access. SecOps consulting starts when the control is drifting.
If the three lines are a vendor, a shared login, and a chat thread, that is a phone number. We write the owner and the record. We do not install an on-call roster of people you do not have.
After a cutover
A cutover is in scope, before the old way and the new way harden. The infrastructure assessment is the wider pass. This pass starts from the invoice and the failure.
Transition is the same work after a merger, an acquisition, or a leadership change. Name which one in the note. We scope that week, not a tour of the cloud.
